TRI-B

TEAM EDITION

Tri-B: The Throw Built by the Tribe

It was time.
Time for MonkeyfingeR to do something we hadn’t done before:
A full team build, from the ground up.
This wasn’t just about one idea. It was about a collective vision.

Fresh off the competition-driven release of the Caesar, we felt the need for something different.
A throw that could keep up with every trick, but didn’t make you feel like you were gunning it down the highway at 100 miles an hour.

It needed flow. Comfort. Personality.

So we did what any good tribe would do:
We asked the team.

This wasn’t a token “we’ll take your feedback into consideration” moment. We went to each player and asked:
“What do you want in this throw?”
Then we actually built it that way.

We nailed down the idea, put pen to paper, mouse to CAD, and came out the other side with a clean, balanced design.

After a round of protos and some very minor tweaks, we knew:
This one was special.

It needed a name worthy of the people who shaped it.
Enter: Tri-B
A play on “tribe,” and a perfect fit for the crew of throwers that brought this idea to life.

Each team member got to represent themselves through a unique shadow image, whatever they wanted. These symbols became part of the final graphic and one of our best-ever T-shirt designs.

From monsters to mountain ranges, robots to riddles, everyone’s silhouette told a story. And together? It looked insane.

The graphic told a story!

For the release, we took it up another notch:

  • Every player designed their own colorway

  • We leaned fully into custom anodizing

The result?
A throw with attitude, style, and soul.
The Tri-B flew off the shelves and helped shift MonkeyfingeR into a whole new gear.

We weren’t just a company anymore.
It felt like something special, and it was coming from the community.

The Tri-B year was shaping up to be huge. We had three full releases planned, and we nailed every one. Each bigger than the last.

Things were getting crazy, in the best way possible.

And if we had to sum up the Tri-B in one word?

Cooperation.

This throw wasn’t just made by a team.
It was made for the team.
And we’re all really proud of what we built together.

This was a one and done!  We never looked back, but maybe we should have.  People have been asking for more of these for years.  If you have one in your collection, hang ON!  This version will not be seen again.

We also wanted to send a special shout-out to team member Will Hahn.  Will took on the enormous task of gathering everyone’s input and somehow putting them all together in the Tri-B.  He did an amazing job.  This was the first CAD work he had done for MFD but we would find out later it was far from his last.
