SILVERBACK KING

THE OFF-STRING OUTLIER

Silverback King

And now for something a little different.
Actually, a lot different.

Let’s rewind the tape a bit.
Enter Jeremy, aka Mr. Yothrower.

Back in the early days of MonkeyfingeR, Jeremy was repping the team with serious style.
Tutorials? On fire.
Community support? Constant.
Skill level? Criminally underrated.

Eventually, Jeremy branched out to chase some new goals, and absolutely crushed it, becoming the Canadian Off-String Champion.

Sidebar: Yeah, that Jeremy. The one flying yoyos through the ceiling and still landing the bind.

We never lost touch.
So when the timing felt right, we decided to fire up a new collaboration, one that had never come out of the MFD Lab before.  Jeremy was working with King Yo Star, so officially this was a collaboration with them as Jeremy was the person we dealt with.

An off-string throw.

This wasn’t gonna be anodized. No candy colors or splatter jobs.
This one was raw plastic, built to take a beating and come back grinning.

We put our heads together. Tossed prototypes. Tweaked. Tuned.
After a few test rounds and Jeremy’s keen eye, it was ready.

But it needed something more, a final piece to crown it properly.

Sidebar: A king needs a crown. Or at least killer box art.

So we reached out to a legend.

Rob Armin, an icon in the yo-yo world, known for his incredible illustrations and signature style, stepped up.
He didn’t just deliver.
He created something that screamed power, style, and full jungle royalty.

And just like that…
The Silverback King was born.

Sidebar: Not just a throw, this was a beast. Built for air. Built for chaos. Built to take a beating.

Now, if you’re wondering, “Hey, where was John, our current off-string champ, in all this?”
Fair question.

John joined the MFD team just after the Silverback was released.
So this one was pure Jeremy, start to finish.

And speaking of Jeremy, he’s since retired from the yo-yo scene, but his legacy is locked into our DNA.
We miss you, buddy. Thanks for helping us take MFD above the string.
