The heat coming off the Conspiracy was real, and we felt the pressure.
A competition crusher. A design triumph.
We’d hit a high note, and now?
It was time to chill.
Ray wanted to try something different.
Something new.
Something we hadn’t tackled before.
Sidebar: Not every throw needs to scream. Some just need to vibe.
There was an idea. A bold one.
But the next step? Total coin toss.
Ray had reached out to these guys years ago.
Back then, MFD was still young, ambitious, a little loud, a little rough around the edges.
The timing hadn’t been right.
But now?
We had momentum.
We had a lineup.
We had a fan base that was growing to our amazment.
It was time to try again.
So Ray fired off the email, to Shawn and Dave.
One Drop.
Industry legends. Cleanest machinists in the game.
And the response?
Immediate.
“Yes. What did you have in mind?”

Ray tossed over a basic idea:
A shape we’d never touched before, the V.
Clean, simple, performance first.

We went back and forth on a few ideas, then let Shawn and Dave do what they do best:
work their magic.
Meanwhile, they passed the anodizing wand over to us.
MonkeyfingeR was back in the colour lab, firing up finishes that popped.
The result?
The Fire Devil.
New shape. New packaging. New vibe and a completely new colour way lineup.
A throw unlike anything we’d done before.
Sidebar: Sleek. Chill. V shaped villainy in all the right ways.
The first run dropped, and exploded.
Gone in minutes.
Both shops, sold out.
We weren’t ready for that kind of love. The demand was instant.
When it came time for Run Two, we had the luxury of One Drop’s in-house machining.
That meant we could make tweaks on the fly.
So we added a few of their signature ridges, subtle, stylish, instantly recognizable.
It gave the second run a unique edge, and everyone could see and feel the difference.
Sidebar: Same name. Different beast. Collectors noticed.
And here’s the thing:
Working with One Drop was a dream.
Fluid. Easy. Effortless.
Shawn and Dave are true pros, masters of their craft, and just genuinely awesome to work with.
We’re hoping we can make it happen again one day.
