The backbone behind the chaos, every zoo has its keeper, and when it comes to MonkeyfingeR, that keeper is JT.
This legend’s journey started over a decade ago, back when he was just getting back into the throw scene after some time away. A couple of budget yo-yos later, fate stepped in, JT stumbled across a weird little Canadian company offering wild custom ano. One email, two custom Tri-Bs, and a few long chats with Ray later…boom. He was officially hooked. And those Tri-Bs? Still in his collection today.
But MFD isn’t just about throws. It’s about the people. And JT? He quickly became one of the most important people in the room.
See, JT isn’t just a die hard yo-yo nerd, he’s a brilliant mind with a PhD, a sharp eye for detail, and a drive that’s downright contagious. Those early Zoo emails? JT couldn’t help but notice they had heart but needed polish. So, like any real one does, he offered to help. Ray took him up on it without hesitation, and just like that, the edits turned into web work…which turned into livestreams…which turned into a full blown creative partnership.
It took nearly two years for JT to officially join the MFD team, not for lack of Ray trying, but because JT was humble enough to think he “wasn’t good enough.” (Spoiler: he totally was.) By then, he was already deeply embedded in everything we do, keeping Ray on track, fueling projects, and keeping the digital Zoo from burning down.
He helps run our Discord server, he drives content, and he’s been instrumental in shaping our livestream presence over the years — especially the Monkey Business Live series. When Ray needs a co pilot, JT is already in the cockpit, ready to roll. Let’s be honest here, JT flies that show!
But wait, it gets better.
JT is one of the very few people ever allowed inside the sacred walls of the Franken Lab, where he’s now hands on with anodization. His first official projects? The Lesula 2s in Maiden Voyage and Winter Wonderland, and yeah, a few “happy accident” B-grades that are now fan favourites. Most recently, he was back in the Lab helping Ray knock out a monster restock. The man keeps showing up and delivering.
From creative direction to anodizing, JT does it all, and he does it without ego, without pause, and without fail. He’s more than a team member. He’s family.
JT, you keep us moving. You keep us motivated. And you remind us why this brand is about more than just metal and string.
